  • AmeriHealth Caritas unveiled a new product that will mark its entry into the ACA’s exchanges. The AmeriHealth Caritas Next product will be built on AmeriHealth Caritas’ Next Generation Model of Care, which focuses on whole-person care including the social determinants of health. The insurer will initially offer two bronze plans, three silver plans, and one gold plan across 25 counties in North Carolina. (Press release here)
  • A new KFF analysis finds that 71 percent of Medicare beneficiaries didn’t compare their coverage options during a recent open enrollment season. Eighty-one percent of Medicare Advantage drug plan enrollees and 72 percent of Medicare stand-alone drug plan enrollees said they did not compare drug coverage offered by their current plan to other plans. The share of beneficiaries who said they did not compare their options was higher among beneficiaries who are Black (74 percent) and Hispanic (79 percent), ages 85 and older (84 percent), with low incomes (85 percent), and dual eligibles (87 percent).
