Access & Coverage
  • Last week, the Treasury Department submitted proposed regulations that would help strengthen the Affordable Care Act (ACA), as directed in Executive Order 14009, by changing the Section 36B premium tax credit. Currently, Section 36B applies an affordability determination to all members of the household, making them all ineligible for subsidies if the premium for just one person falls below the threshold. Addressing the loophole could help as many as 5.1 million people get more affordable coverage. (Notice here)
