  • Three moderate Democrats on the House Energy and Commerce (E&C) Committee voted against a measure to let Medicare negotiate the price of some drugs, sinking the party’s signature drug pricing bill. The House Ways & Means (W&M) Committee later passed the same provision. However, without the three Democrats’ support, the entire reconciliation bill won’t pass the House. The House E&C Committee also approved legislation to include vision, dental, and hearing benefits in Medicare. Meanwhile, the House W&M Committee approved a measure to make permanent the expanded premium subsidies for ACA health plans that Congress first passed earlier this year.
