  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said that U.S. hospitalizations due to the influenza virus so far this fall are higher than they have been in over a decade, signaling an early start for the flu season. The CDC estimated that there have already been 880,000 influenza illnesses, 6,900 hospitalizations, and 360 deaths, including the first pediatric death of the season. (Article here)
