- The Biden administration is reportedly vetting Robert Califf to serve as the next FDA Commissioner. Califf previously held the role for less than one year during the Obama administration. - The Biden administration is putting $100 million in funding from the American Rescue Plan toward the National Health Service Corps, a five-fold increase in a program that connects primary care physicians to communities that struggle with recruiting and retaining doctors. HHS will award as many as 50 awards for up to $1 million annually over four years. The application window for states is open until April for a September 2022 project start date. (Press release here)
