  • The Biden administration is reportedly vetting Robert Califf to serve as the next FDA Commissioner. Califf previously held the role for less than one year during the Obama administration. Though Califf is seen as a final contender, a decision has not yet been made and others are also still being considered. (Articles here, here, and here)
  • The Biden administration is putting $100 million in funding from the American Rescue Plan toward the National Health Service Corps, a five-fold increase in a program that connects primary care physicians to communities that struggle with recruiting and retaining doctors. HHS will award as many as 50 awards for up to $1 million annually over four years. The application window for states is open until April for a September 2022 project start date. (Press release here)
