  • Several former health advisers to President Biden published separate op-eds urging the administration to reconsider its COVID-19 pandemic strategy. According to the authors, the COVID-19 pandemic will persist for some time. They outlined several strategies to active a sustainable “new normal” with substantially lower virus transmission and mortality from COVID-19, including increasing investments in a public health data infrastructure and better testing; imposing vaccine mandates more broadly, including for children in schools; and making high quality masks like N95 available for free for all Americans.
