  • The Senate cleared a temporary spending bill that would fund federal agencies through February 18. The House passed the stopgap measure on a 221-212 vote earlier Thursday evening. The continuing resolution does not include an amendment to bar funding to implement the Biden administration’s vaccine mandates for private employers, federal employees and contractors, health care workers, and the military. Nor does it stop Medicare cuts and separate reductions to reimbursements for physicians and clinical laboratory services that are set to take effect December 31, 2021. However, the bill does extend higher Medicaid matching rates for U.S. territories. (Articles here, here, here, here, here, here, and here)
