Payers
  • The ERISA Industry Committee (ERIC) sent a letter to House members urging them to vote against the Mental Health Matters Act. The legislation would authorize the Department of Labor (DOL) to enforce requirements regarding mental health and substance use disorder benefits in ERISA. The group, which represents large employer plan sponsors, said that the penalties for not following the pay parity requirements would result in the DOL levying millions of dollars of fines on employers. The House is expected to vote on the bill by the end of this week. However, if the House passes the bill, it remains unclear whether the Senate will take it up. (Article here)
