  • The American Hospital Association (AHA) and the American Medical Association (AMA) dropped their lawsuit against the federal government over the implementation of Congress’ surprise billing law. The lawsuit alleged that the rulemaking process shifted from lawmakers’ intent and favored payers during independent arbitration. AHA and AMA believe their lawsuit became unnecessary after the final rule on the No Surprises Act was released in August, though the trade groups suggested that fresh legal action could follow.
