Mental Health
  • U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra announced that hundreds of millions of dollars will be awarded to support Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs). The federal government is offering $1 million grants next year for up to 15 states to help expand all-hours mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) care via CCBHCs around the country. Ten of those states will then be selected in 2024 for more money for their programs through Medicaid by securing federal matching funds at an enhanced rate. The goal is for 10 states to join the program every other year until all states are participating. (Press release here; Articles here and here)
