  • The United States, European Union, South Africa, and India have reached a deal regarding intellectual property rights for COVID-19 shots. The deal would allow developing countries with low vaccine exports to use patented vaccine formulas without the owner’s approval. A U.S. spokesperson confirmed the compromise, but cautioned that “no agreement on text has been reached” for the deal, which still needs buy-in from more countries. (Article here)
