  • Government watchdogs told a House panel that Congress should crack down on the Medicare Advantage program, saying the private health plans for seniors sometimes deny access to needed medical care and inflate charges by billions of dollars. The watchdogs said lawmakers should limit home-based health assessments and that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) should prioritize audits to recoup government overpayments.
