- The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced an Office of Environmental Justice (OEJ) to address climate-related health issues particularly those affecting poor and marginalized Americans. The office will be part of the HHS Office of Climate Change and Health Equity and will develop HHS’ broader environmental health strategies and coordinate its annual environmental justice reports. The OEJ is seeking public comment on its draft 2022 HHS Environmental Justice Strategy and Implementation Plan through June 18, 2022. (Press release here)
