  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices voted unanimously to endorse the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine. CDC Director Rochelle Walensky subsequently authorized its use as a primary series for adults 18. The vaccine is not expected to play a major role in the U.S. vaccination campaign since it intended for the initial doses and most people have already received their initial vaccinations. However, Novavax uses a more traditional vaccine technology, compared to the mRNA technology used by Pfizer and Moderna, which health officials say might convince skeptics to get vaccinated.
