- The White House is considering leveraging the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness (PREP) Act to protect nationwide access to abortion medication. Following the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade reversal, Democratic lawmakers and reproductive rights groups have urged the White House to utilize PREP Act authority, which would safeguard physicians, pharmacies, and others from liability for providing abortion pills to people throughout the U.S, even to those living in states with bans or major restrictions on the procedure.
