  • Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. and AbbVie Inc.’s Allergan unit will pay $34 million in cash and $20 million worth of overdose reversal drug Narcan to settle a federal lawsuit brought by San Francisco alleging that the drugmakers fueled the opioid surge, creating a public nuisance in the city. San Francisco, which is also pursuing action against Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc., saw a roughly 500 percent increase in opioid-related overdose deaths between 2015 and 2020, according to the city attorney’s office.
