  • Ohio voters rejected an initiative that was largely seen as an effort to undercut a November vote on adding abortion rights to Ohio’s constitution. The measure, known as Issue 1, would have raised the threshold for amending the state’s constitution from a simple majority to 60 percent, making it easier to help restrict abortion. Ohio becomes the fourth red state, along with Kansas, Kentucky, and Montana, to have voted on the abortion-rights side of a referendum since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last summer.
