- The Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a lawsuit against Idaho over a law that would enforce a near-total ban on abortion starting August 25. According to the DOJ, the state’s “trigger” violates federal rules to provide medical care when the life or health of a pregnant person is on the line. It is the agency’s first lawsuit post-Roe v.
