  • The Biden administration announced a new effort to prevent, detect, and treat long COVID-19. President Biden issued a memorandum that accelerates enrollment in the National Institutes of Health’s study of the long-term effects of COVID-19 infection and instructs the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to coordinate a government-wide action plan to address long COVID-19, which is estimated to afflict anywhere from 7.7 million to 23 million Americans.
