  • The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) plans to roll back the Trump administration’s so-called conscience rule. The rule would have allowed health care providers to refuse to offer services that conflict with their religious or moral beliefs. However, it was blocked by federal courts and has thus never been implemented. HHS could release its proposal as soon as this month. The move comes as battles over abortion and gender-affirming care intensify at the state level. (Article here)
