- A report from the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis found that Trump political appointees and former White House officials interfered with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance and “bullied” officials. The report demonstrated a coordinated effort from the White House to “downplay the seriousness” of the pandemic by changing scientific reports such as the Health and Human Services Department’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Reports and leverage the pandemic to restrict immigration at the Mexican border.
