  • Health officials say they’re planning to push this week for people to get boosted against COVID-19 to maximum protection around Thanksgiving. Thus far, overall uptake remains low. According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), only 10 percent of people ages 5 and older have received an updated booster dose, despite 73 percent of that population having gotten their first two shots. A new study found that higher vaccination rates among U.S. children could prevent thousands of pediatric hospitalizations and millions of missed school days. (Articles here and here)
