  • The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the calendar year (CY) 2023 Home Health Prospective Payment System (HH PPS) Rate Update final rule, revealing that home health providers will avoid significant Medicare pay cuts next year. The agency estimates that Medicare payments to home health providers next year will increase in the aggregate by 0.7 percent, or $125 million compared to CY 2022. Additionally, CMS still plans to recoup the extra $2 billion it paid to home health providers in 2020 and 2021 because of the new payment system. CMS could release plan for that in next year’s rule.
