  • North Carolina Senate Republicans are strongly considering legislation that would expand Medicaid coverage to approximately 600,000 additional low-income adults. According to a summary of the draft bill obtained by The Associated Press, the legislation would include a work requirement for expansion recipients, streamline and narrow “certificate of need” laws, require health insurers in the state to cover telehealth services, and permit nurses with advanced specialties to practice without a physician’s formal supervision.
