  • The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Office of the Actuary released its Projections of National Health Expenditures report, indicating that health care prices are expected to rise this year. The report predicts that prices will rise by 3.6 percent in 2022 and boost overall health care spending growth 4.6 percent to $4.5 trillion. As a result, out-of-pocket costs are projected to climb 6.1 percent in 2022 and an average of 4.6 percent from 2021 to 2030. According to the report, the health care sector is still expected to consume roughly one-fifth of the country’s total economic output by 2030, which aligns with past projections.
