  • The Senate blocked a Democratic bill to codify abortion access by barring restrictions on the procedure before fetal viability or when the pregnancy risks the patient’s health. Forty-six Democrats voted in favor of the legislation and all Republicans and Sen. Joe Manchin opposed it.
