  • The Commonwealth Fund Commission on a National Public Health System, a bipartisan panel made up of leading former health officials, called for an overhaul of the U.S. public health system. The panel said that change is necessary to protect against health risks such as COVID-19, drug overdoses, maternal mortality, and diabetes. The group’s recommendations would shift more responsibility for the country’s public health from states and localities to the federal government. (Article here)
