  • eHealth released a survey indicating that 13 percent of Medicare Advantage (MA) enrollees had a claim or pre-authorization request denied. Of those, 43 percent said their plan told them the claim was excluded from coverage. Another 15 percent said coverage was denied because the service wasn’t medically necessary, 3 percent said they could not get a specific drug and 2 percent were for coverage visits. The survey also showed that 67 percent of respondents chose MA over Medigap due to concerns over its affordability. (Press release here; Article here)
