  • The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) issued a new policy stipulating that U.S. military veterans who are in a suicidal crisis will be eligible for free emergency medical care from the VA. The policy, effective today (January 17), covers up to 30 days of inpatient or crisis residential care and up to 90 days of follow-on outpatient care. The VA will also reimburse veterans for ambulance rides to hospitals. (Article here)
