  • Provider groups are lobbying Congress and federal regulators to not revoke the Direct Contracting payment model, which allows providers to get capitated population-based payments. The efforts come amid concerns from progressive groups and lawmakers that most direct contracting entities are owned by investors and that the model could encroach on traditional Medicare. The CMS told Fierce Healthcare that it will soon offer more guidance on the future of the model, which launched under the Trump administration. (Article here)
