  • The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) filed a lawsuit against Kochava Inc., alleging that the Idaho-based company’s selling of geolocation information could reveal to tens of millions of smartphone users the visits that people make to abortion clinics and other sensitive places. The FTC said that data could also be used to track the locations of health care professionals who provide abortions. According to Kochava, it is compliant with all laws and that its tracking information comes from users who consented to the data collection. (Articles here, here, here, and here)
