  • Kaufman Hall’s latest National Hospital Flash report found that hospitals’ gross operating revenue increased in June, but the improvements were not enough to pull the industry’s median operating margin into the green. June revenue was up 1.2 percent compared to May, 4.1 percent compared to June of 2021, and 6.2 percent compared to the beginning of 2022. Hospitals also experienced some relief from the year’s “historic high” expenses, but total expenses were still 7.5 percent higher than last year and 9.5 percent higher than the beginning of 2022.
