  • Centers for Medicare &Medicaid Services Administrator Chiquita Brooks-LaSure defended the agency’s planned 3.2 percent payment increase for hospitals. Brooks-LaSure said that officials want to reward facilities that are “moving to whole-person patient care” and “doing electronic health records, that are reporting the quality measures that we are really focused on.” Hospital groups have criticized the fiscal 2023 payment bump as too small.
