- Ashish Jha, the White House’s new COVID-19 czar, said the Biden administration could extend the federal mask mandate for public transportation, which is set to expire April 18. According to Jha, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky is “working on developing a scientific framework” to determine whether to continue the mask rule, which could come out within days.
