- The Biden administration’s plan to launch its own Operation Warp Speed-like initiative has reportedly stalled out. The initiative was aimed at strengthening the country’s defenses against future coronavirus strains and developing new vaccines and treatments. However, progress has not been made because Congress has denied additional COVID-19 funding requests. Meanwhile, China bypassed the U.S. at pursuing scientific breakthroughs. White House COVID-19 response coordinator Ashish Jha said that “the notion we’re going to sit on the sidelines and watch other nations build this stuff should be totally anathema to us.” (Article here)
