  • Kaiser Family Foundation’s Annual Employer Benefits Survey found that employer-sponsored health insurance premiums stayed relatively stable in 2022, with the average cost of family coverage totaling $22,463. On average, workers on paid $6,106 toward the cost of their coverage and had an average deductible of $1,763 for single coverage. Additionally, 27 percent of large employers added mental-health providers – either in physical offices or virtually through telehealth – to their plan’s networks this year. According to the survey, even with this year’s minimal change, average premiums for family coverage have risen 43 percent since 2012, more than the shift in inflation (25 percent) and a little more than wages (38 percent) over the same period.
