  • The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities released a report urging Medicaid managed care plans to prepare for “unprecedented coordination” with state officials to ensure beneficiaries continue to get care after the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) ends. Experts estimate that over 15 million people could lose Medicaid during the unwinding process, many of whom will still be Medicaid-eligible. In order to minimize coverage loss, states need to use the next five months to shore up their staff, infrastructure, and processes to prepare for the massive task of redetermining their Medicaid population.
