  • The Senate voted 68-23 in favor of immediately ending the COVID-19 pandemic national emergency after the House passed the legislation in February, which likely ends the declaration before the current expiration date of May 11 but leaves the public health emergency declaration in place. While President Joe Biden opposes the legislation, a White House official said if the bill comes to the president’s desk, “he will sign it, and the administration will continue working with agencies to wind down the national emergency with as much notice as possible to Americans who could potentially be impacted.” (Articles here and here)
