  • The House voted 402-20 to pass a bipartisan package that seeks to address mental health and substance use disorder (SUD). The Restoring Hope for Mental Health and Well-Being Act would allocate $5 million a year to a new a Behavioral Health Crisis Coordinating Office to bolster access to crisis care; reauthorize numerous programs that address mental health and millions of dollars in grants for states, territories, tribes, and tribal organizations to go towards community mental health services for adults who have serious mental illnesses; and promote the availability of high-quality housing and services that are dedicated to recovery for people with SUDs.
