  • Frank Yiannas, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) deputy commissioner for the Office of Food Policy and Response, is resigning less than two months after a report criticized the structure and culture of the FDA’s food program and recommended a major overhaul. Yiannas wrote in a resignation letter to FDA Commissioner Robert Califf that the “decentralized structure of the foods program that you and I both inherited significantly impaired FDA’s ability to operate as an integrated food team and protect the public.” (Articles here, here, and here)
