  • West Virginia State Attorney General Patrick Morrisey announced the state has agreed to an $83 million settlement with Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. to resolve a lawsuit alleging that the company’s failed control measures contributed to an oversupply of opioids in the state. Walgreens will pay the settlement within eight years. The deal is not part of a $5.7 billion nationwide settlement Walgreens reached with state and local governments last year.
