Opioid/Substance Use Disorders
  • Addiction Professionals of North Carolina Executive Director Sarah Potter authored a blog sharing her thoughts on the current harm reduction controversy playing out at the federal level. Sarah states that while harm reduction isn’t a cure-all, it is “part of a comprehensive strategy to help those suffering right now,” including access to overdose-reversal kits, safe syringes to limit the spread of HIV and other infectious diseases, and safe smoking kits. She concludes that, “denying funding for harm reduction is denying the evidence that harm reduction works.” Read the blog, entitled “Harm Reduction Recognizes and Values Humanity,” here!
