- LHC Group and UnitedHealth Group disclosed to the Securities and Exchange Commission that their $5.4 billion proposed merger won’t consummate as planned by the end year. According to the filing, the agreement was extended until March 28, 2023 as the two companies expect the merger to close in the first quarter of 2023. UnitedHealth Group announced in March its plan to acquire LHC and incorporate it into its Optum health care services subsidiary. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issued a second request for information in June on the deal. (Article here)
