  • The Wisconsin Legislature’s Joint Committee on Finance rejected Governor Tony Evers’ spending plan for $31 million in settlement funds to combat the state’s opioid epidemic. The plan proposed using the money to increase the availability of NARCAN, invest in new and updated treatment facilities, and enhance data collection and surveillance, among other measures. The committee did not share specific objections or discuss alternative uses for the money. The nonpartisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau will likely study the plan. (Article here)
