  • Several members on a panel of advisers to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggested that most U.S. adults under 50 can hold off on a fourth booster shot until later this year. The members noted that the goal of the additional doses should be to limit serious illness, not to prevent transmission of COVID-19. The determination from the CDC panel is in line with remarks from a Food and Drug Administration panel earlier this month, which come as federal officials look for guidance on the future of booster shots.
