  • Pfizer plans to increase the price of its COVID-19 vaccine to between $110 to $130 per dose once the U.S. government’s purchasing program ends early next year. The price is roughly four times what the federal government pays per dose ($30). According to a Pfizer executive, the company is manufacturing a single-dose shot, which is more expensive than the multi-dose vials used currently. He also said that Pfizer is still in discussion with insurers, but is confident the list price will ensure equitable access and reimbursement. People with Medicare, Medicaid, or private health insurance would most likely pay nothing at all. (Articles here, here, here, and here)
