- The U.S. COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) is expected to remain in place through mid-January. Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra committed to providing stakeholders 60 days’ notice before lifting the PHE so they can prepare for a return to normal operations. HHS did not notify states on Friday of any intent to lift the declaration, meaning it will continue for at least another 60 days. (Articles here and here)
