  • Prime Therapeutics released a new study suggesting that using a medically-integrated dispensing (MID) model could yield significant savings.Under a MID model, care providers have access to prescribing history, test results, and other patient history in the electronic medical record. The analysis of Prime’s IntegratedRx MID pilot found that overfills occurred in 29 percent of MID dose changes and 50 percent of central-filled specialty pharmacy dose changes. For MID dose changes, that represents an average cost of $937 per change compared to $2,733 central-fill pharmacies, savings of nearly $1,800. (Study here)
