  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky signed an order on Friday to lift the country’s COVID-19 testing requirement for international travelers. The order became effective on Sunday at 12:01 am. The airline and travel industry applauded the Biden administration’s decision. Earlier this month, the U.S. Travel Association released an analysis projecting that lifting the requirement could increase travel spending in the U.S. by 12 percent, bringing in an additional $9 billion.
