  • President Joe Biden said he is considering declaring a public health emergency in the wake of the Supreme Court striking down Roe v. Wade, which would free up federal resources to better promote abortion access. The White House previously said such a declaration did not seem like “a great option,” but Biden noted that he asked officials to “to look at whether I have the authority to do that and what impact that would have,” and a public health emergency is one of many approaches his administration is mulling “to accommodate the rights of women.” (Article here)
